sport biomechanics correctives – ankle dorsiflexion

Working with an ever growing number of hockey players, certain patterns are being seen again and again.  This morning at the rink it was noticable that a player had trouble with one of the drills.  This was not due to effort but because of an inability to move his ankles into the required position.  This decrease in ankle range of motion limits a player’s ability to move closer to the ice, get low during the game, and generate full power with the lower extremities.  Here is a link to a corrective exercise to help with stretching out the ankles, improve on ice performance, and decrease the risk of injuries.
